Looking for Thomas Willett/Willatt, born C.1823 at Holme Lacey.
Mothers name, Mary. Father could have been James.
Found on the 1851 at Abersychan, Mon.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Jean, Thanks for getting the Thomas Willett info.
He has been a thorn in the side for many years. All that I can tell for sure (from census and the IGI) is that he was bapt. at Holme Lacey in 1823 and his Mother is shown as Mary. On his marriage certificate he gives his Father as James.
I think he must have had a good horse or a bike, as he was in Abersychan in 1851-1881 and later moved to Middlesborough.
Thansk again for your effort. As Tesco says "every little helps"

To expand one of Jean's results:
HO107/360/18 page 1 folio 21, Twyning, Herefordshire
Mary Willetts 45 farmer
Thomas Willetts 15
John Holder 23 MS [male servant]
Hannah Masters 15 FS[female servant]
All born outside the county. Ages 15+ are supposed to be rounded down to nearest 5 years, but this enumerator seems to have not done this for everyone. Marks by the enumerator indicate that although all 4 are in the same household, Mary & Thomas belong to the same family unit.

Thanks for your reply.
I think that this might well be the correct "family".
For some 20 years they have proved to be my most elusive lot. Even down to my Grandmother and her parents who consistently appear to have evaded census, even when I know that they were in a specific area at the time of each.
Thansk again, Roy
