I am seeking any information about John Benjamin Nicholls, born c1893,He married Annie Glanville in 1915. According to his marraige cetificate, John gave his address as 225 Grove st Deptford and his occupation as a Private in the Royal Fuseiliers 3rd Battalion. His father also John Benjamin Nicholls gives his occupation as a Builders Labourer. I have not been able to find the birth or death certs for him so i am really stuck! any help would be so gratefully recieved. Thank you.

Hi Josie,
I assume you have realised 1915 was during WW1 so this is most likely why John was a soldier. In August 1914 Royal Fuseliers 3rd Battalion were in Lucknow, India and returned to England December 1914. This would tie in well with his marriage in 1915.

Have you found him in the 1901 census? Where was he born? Mother's name? Where did you get the year of birth from?

Have you discounted the following births from FreeBMD?
