Try the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) web-site
http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx
enter a surname, initial, war, country and see what heits you get.

When the list of matches is displayed, you'll see that the names are underlined. these are links. click on the name and you may find that some additional information (usually a next-of-kin) is displayed. Not all entries have this additional information, but it may help to narrow down the he number of possible matches to your William PERKS.

There were 11 William Perks killed in WW1. Can you give us some more info such as residence, where born etc, so that we can narrow it down a little?
