Margate, October 31
On Friday morning the following remarkable occurrence happened here:- A niece of Mr Knox, at no 6 Cecil-square, about five years old, got out of bed in her sleep, between five and six o’clock, and, after going through two rooms and down one flight of stairs, went across the dining-room (on the second floor) threw up the sash, and leaped into the square. She first fell on the lamp-iron, and then on the steps at the door, and at last rolled on the foot-pavement; and strange to tell! received hardly any hurt. A person passing at the time with a candle and lantern, picked her up, and alarmed the family. She related that she was dreaming of going to her mamma, who she had not seen for some time, but of whom her aunt and she had been speaking the night before.
