This is the inside of a card I found among my grandmother's (Madge) posessions. There seem to be no Toms of that approximate age among the Dyer or White relatives at that time (Christmas 1918). Maybe he is a friend from Pinner.

More to come.

This places Tommy in the 48 Training and Despatch Squadron at RAF Waddington, and I have checked the RAF/Waddington records available online that there was indeed that squadron there at that time.

Still more.

This picture appears to go with the card. The training roundel suggests a Training and Despatch Squadron. I guess that this is Tommy. The general concensus is that this is an AVRO 504K.

My question is, can somebody please point me to some place where I might discover who "Tommy" might be? I am quite familiar with searching Australian WW1 records, but British records are a different story. I will be writing to the Liaison Office at RAF Waddington to see if that august personage can enlighten me. I have not had great success so far with the official RAF history pages.
Other Great War photos and memorabilia can be found in the folder of the same name in my Photobucket, accessible through my profile.
