I'm looking for my Great-Grandfather, Thomas Donnelly from Tipperary County, Ireland...no, these are not the "Black Donnellys" also from Tipperary. Thomas Donnelly was born in 1836, emmigrated to America in either 1852 or 1859. In America he was a silk weaver, married a Mary Smith Born 1838 in Belfast who was a lace weaver. They lived in Manchester, Hartford ,Connecticut, U.S.A. in 1870. They had 8 children who all worked as silk weavers.
I'm trying to find the town Thomas Donnelly was from, perhaps where there were silk mills. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.
