If you access the excellent County Clare Library Website you can find James Hardgrove listed in the Tithe Applotment (1827) and Griffiths Valuation (1855).
Both entries give his location as in the Townland of Gurtnaglera, Clonlea, County Clare. (It's in the Tulla Union).
