I have the following info on Ruth Cook born circa 1906 place of birth unknown. Married March 1929 to Frederick C Eagles (b.1904-d.1967) then in December 1929 they had a son Frederick D Eagles though he was born in Doncaster (don't know why), they lived in Epsom Surrey until they both died. Frederick D Eagles married a Joan Norton in 1952 then divorced and married a Peggy Barnett in 1965 and moved to Chichester. I can find out nothing about Ruth's parents and siblings although there is a hint that she had a sister Pearl aka Queenie who also lived in Epsom Surrey that's all I know. There is a possibility that Peggy Barnett died 2005 and now Frederick D Eagles has disappeared???? So Frederick D Eagles and Ruth Cook are my brick walls???? Please help - thank you -

Marriages Mar 1929
Cook Ruth Eagles Epsom 2a 29
Eagles Frederick C Cook Epsom 2a 29

Births Dec 1929
Eagles Frederick D Cook Doncaster 9c 1192

From FreeBMD are the records you mention. Do you have either of these certificates as they may throw light on this.
The marriage certificate should have her fathers name on it.

You can get them here

There is this Ruth

Births Dec 1902
COOK Ruth Ellen Chertsey 2a 57

And she appears on the 1911 Census still in Chertsey but you need her father's name to match them up

there is a hint that she had a sister Pearl aka Queenie who also lived in Epsom Surrey

Queenie Cook married Harry Parr in Epsom RD, December Quarter 1930.

Queenie Parr died in Surrey Mid Eastern RD, July 1985. Date of Birth given as 26 April 1910 .

Surrey Mid Eastern RD includes Epsom

There are strong possibilities that this is the family you're after.

they had a son Frederick D Eagles though he was born in Doncaster (don't know why)

I wonder if it’s to do with horse racing as Harry is a stableman in a racing stables: Epsom & Doncaster being 2 of the most important racecourses in the country!

There is a Frederick Charles Eagles, age 6, in the 1911 Census [RG14 PN2961 SN7]

He lives in Epsom with his family:

Father Charles, age 42, born Carshalton, Surrey & mother Fanny, age 38.

Their children are:
George James, age 16
Ivy Dorothy Steed, age 12
Frank Ernest, age 8
Frederick Charles, age 6
Harry(?) Leslie Teutoi (?), age 2
Amy Annie Steed, visitor, age 28, born Hampton Wick (she is probably Fanny’s sister as Fanny was born in Hampton Wick)

The marriage has lasted 16 years. They’ve had 8 children of whom 2 have died.

then divorced and married a Peggy Barnett in 1965 and moved to Chichester.

I don't want to stretch the horse-racing theme too far without any further evidence, but you couldn't live any closer to Goodwood Race Course than Chichester!

Just to say that if you think this is the family you're after, then it can be traced back further, as probably can the Eagles.
