I am researching information on any members of the povey family who came mostly from smethwick, or west bromwich, I would be gratefull for any information.

Thank you for the reply, I am looking for descendants of robert povey who was born about1765 in west bromwich, he married anne? I child, robert, married mary hare, in all saints west bromwich about1785, I cant find any details of robert or mary..
Also john thomas povey and mary anne mullett, married in kings norton about 1899, and had 2 sons frederick and samuel .

samuel married pricilla (cissy) parker, son of george parker in 1921 in west bromwich, and had 3 children samuel irene and pauline mary, I cant find any details on john thomas's other son frederick born about 1900. . most of the poveys seemed to be concentrated in the harborne/smethwick /west bromwich area.

Hi, I'm related to the Birmingham Povey's from the St Georges area of Brum. I'm not sure if these are connected to the Black Country - the furthest back is George Povey born Birmingham c1804.
