Are there any super sleuths out there that can help with two problems. They are both much of a muchness, and might be classed as general problems, but to me they are now brickwalls.

My family STANBROUGH - Anna Maria STANBROUGH born 15/06/1811, Isleworth, Middx. parents James STANBROUGH and Mary Ann DIXON married Edward Chatterton MIDDLETON 24/06/1884 Isleworth. They had children and Anna Maria died in 1878 Loughborough, Leicestershire. I have only now come across a burial entry on London Baptisms, Marriages and Burials for Anna Maria STANBROUGH born 15/06/1811 and buried 4th June, 1812 parents James & Mary Ann STANBROUGH.

Husband's family BOORMAN - Matilda BOORMAN born 11/10/1821, Shoreditch, Hackney, parents William John BOORMAN and Mary Ann WHITAKER married Jacob JACK 16/05/1850 Islington, London. They had children and it seems that they emigrated to New Zealand, although I haven't confirmed this yet. The family, it seems, all died there with Matilda dying on the 08/12/1890. Once again, I've come across a burial record for a Matilda BOORMAN born 11/10/1821 Hackney, being buried 16/03/1823 aged 15 months, Hackney.

Both marriage records show the correct parents.

I have not been able to find any births of 'replacement children' as you do see occasionally. Am I missing something here? Any information or suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

BOORMAN
Looking at Matilda, I can see her baptism on 3 Feb 1822 with a birth date of 11 Oct 1821. The address is Charlotte Street.
In 1841 I think she appears in the census with mum and siblings, the address is Norfolk Street.
This is the address on the marriage entry, the father is the same as given on the baptism - seems to fit fine.

The little lass that died was buried on 16 March 1823 and the address was New Inn Yard, she was 15 months old. Other than the name being the same, I cannot tie the children together. There are no parents names mentioned.
I checked New Inn Yard in 1841 and I could not see a Boorman family or similar name neither could I see a baptism for this child.

I can only presume, at the moment, that she was not baptised or it is not on line and she is a child of different parents, maybe a cousin. Did William John have a brother that may have been the father of this little girl?
My only suggestion is a trawl of the actual parish register to see if you can find the families living at New Inn Yard and Charlotte Street around that time.

Anna Maria STANBROUGH born 15/06/1811

Where have you sourced this information. I search the IGI and found her marriage (1834 not 1884 perplexing) and I also found a member submitted entry for the birth exactly as you quoted. Submitted entries can be extremely unreliable.

I found the marriage of her parents at St Olave, which is in Southwark, London.
Interestingly the IGI only has marriages for this parish. No births.

Where was the burial, you did not mention this. Was it in Southwark?

If it was then you can totally ignore the Isleworth entry

Raffaele,

Thank you for your prompt reply. So sorry, the marriage should be 1834 and NOT 1884 - a senior moment perhaps. The burial of Anna Maria STANBROUGH was at Isleworth, Middx. I note your comments and those of the other gentleman re - BOORMAN and will have to give them both some thought.
