Lewis's of Norley

Can anyone give me information about the Lewis's of Norley? I've got back as far as Robert and Mary who lost a son John in First World War. Surviving children included Charles, Samuel, Lizzie,, Ginnie/Jeannie/Jennie. I think at some poiont they lived in Fingerpost lane.

Re Fingerpost Lane:

Yes, in 1881, your LEWISes were living on Fingerpost Lane -- Robert, 22, born in Norley, with parents, Samuel, 51, a farmer born in Little Budworth, Cheshire, and Elizabeth, 46, born in Crowton, Cheshire, and brother Henry, 17, born in Norley. Both brothers are Agricultural Laborers. [Reference: RG11/3519 Folio 79A]

Also in 1871 -- on Fingerpost Lane. Father, Samuel, a farmer of 4 acres. Wife Elizabeth. Sons Robert, 12, and Henry, 7. [RG10/3693 Folio 165]

But, going as far back as 1861, they were on Cheese Lane in Norley. Samuel was a farmer. [RG9/2599 Folio 155]

Back up to 1891, Samuel LEWIS, 60 was still a farmer and still living on Fingerpost Lane but now a widower with a 23 year old general servant, Mary Blair, also in the household. [RG12/2834 Folio 173]

In 1901, Samuel, 71, was living with son Henry, 37, and Henry's wife, Fanny [36, born in Bangor, Flintshire] at Holly Bush Farm in Norley. Henry was a farmer. No children. [Reference: RG13/3337 Folio 177]

To anyone who's interested, Samuel Lewis born c.1893 to this family in Norley, emigrated to New South Wales and has descendants still there. Charles Lewis his older brother(born c.1884) had family in manchester but emigrated to NSW in old age. Descendants both in England and Australia.
