Hi All

Am having big prolems trying to find the Birth of a William Adams born about 1822 around the area of Bedwellty Monmouthshire.

In 1853 he married at Crickhowell Breckonshire a Ruth Lewis born 1832 in the Parish of Mynyddislwyn, and she died in 1877 at Bedwellty.

William Adams died in1899 also at Bedwellty.

On the 1841 census I found William living with the Prosser Family in Abergavenny.

On the 1871 census I found William, Ruth and the Family living at Bedwellty.
On the 1881 census I found William living still at Bedwellty as a Widower and a farmer of 10 acres with 2 farm servants.

Can't find him on the 1851 census and neither on the 1861 census.

Who was Williams Mother and Father ????? without this information I can go back no further so any help to solve this problem would be great.

Thank You in advance.

Therza

One for the possibles heap from the IGI

WILLIAM ADAMS
Christening: 06 NOV 1831 Llangynidr, Brecon
Father: RICHARD ADAMS Mother: HANNAH
Batch C081371

Most Adams families in Wales seem to come from the west coast but this is just a little North of Bedwelty
Ages back then were often inaccurate and it could also be a late baptism, but as I said, a possible

Hi

At the moment I do not have one, but I think It would be a good idea to send for it.

Thank you for your help.

Yes it would. Always work backwards, one step at a time. A marriage certificate is an essential step in all circumstances.
