Hello Everyone
The Shropshire FHS is pleased to announce that they have now finished indexing the 1851 census for the whole of Shropshire (plus a few bits of some adjoining counties)
[font=Arial][size=2]Most of the northern half of the county has completely new indexing by SURNAME, Forename(s) and Age. The original surname only indexes of Shrewsbury and the Market Drayton Registration Districts have been replaced by the new indexing.
Most of the southern half of the county remains indexed by SURNAME and Forename(s) only and there are no plans to add ages in the future.
Work is in hand to produce the index for the whole of the county (plus the few adjoining bits) on a single CD-ROM later in the year. As soon as it is available we will make an announcement but in the meantime everyone now has immediate access to the index through the Family History Online web site.
