Two new Ancestry databases which may be of interest to anyone with transportees in the family . . .
'UK Royal Navy Medical Journals, 1817-1857'
'This collection includes 671 volumes, each from a single ship and covering a particular time period. The majority are convict ships bound for Australia or Van Diemen’s Land.' Not all the records are for ships: I see that journals of the Bermuda Royal Naval Hospital are included, for example.
'UK Surgeon Superintendents' Journals of Convict Ships, 1858-1867'
which 'does what it says on the tin'
