I'm a decandant of Charles Smith who I believe was born London in 1832. He married Mary Jane Jolly from Cornwall (b.1832). They married in Melbourne Australia, 16 Dec 1852.
It was rumoured by some family members many years ago that this Charles Smith was of some relation to the wife of Captain James Cook.
I'm trying to find the truth of this connection and also more information on Charles Smith.
