I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. On your forum page you have found for me that Walter J Smith, Mary, John, James and Hanora on the 1881, 1871, 1861 censuses, but since this I have found on a Miltary page Walter and family with fiour more children. They are Charles born 1883, William born 1887 (these could also be the other way around with the years) David 1885 Mary 1889 born Rye Sussex. They on the 1901 censuses found a fith child Kathe 1894. Is there any other places other than the BDM, GRO that I would get imformation on this family.
Thank you for your help
Patricia

Do you have this family on the 1891 census Patricia? I have found them in Portsea, so in case you haven't here is the entry:
PRO Ref: RG12/876, folio 122, pages 23/4
Schedule 113, South Parade (Coastguard Station)
Walter J.. SMITH Head M 45 Chief Boatman Coastguard Hants Portsmouth
Mary do Wife M 41 Ireland
John do Son S 16 Shipwright do
Charles do Son 8 Scholar Hants Alverstoke
David do do 6 do do do
William do do 4 do Gosport
Mary do Daur 2 Sussex Rye
I have reversed the birthplaces of David and William in my transcription as the amendment indicated on the actual census sheet.

Thank you Janet for the look up it was pure chance that I found the miltery page with the family details on it. We thought there were only two brothers. I know that Hanora Died at the age of three. We were also told that two of the brothers were Minister of the Church and we thought that John and James were, even with James being the our great grandfather. So now I have some more names to go on and hopefully I can find the two Minister in them.
Thank you again
Patricia
