First post office in Whitehave

Could anyone help with establishing which family opened the first post office in Whitehaven.
Could this family have been named Statter?
Thats all I know and would be grateful for any information.

The earliest record I have for Whitehaven is Pigot's 1828 directory which shows Mary Cleasby as Post Mistress. Maybe someone has an earlier directory they could check for you?
