Hi there,
I too am interested in obtaining copies of wills but live on the other side of the pond here in Canada. Any ideas on whether or not the process to obtain will copies would still be the same? If not, could someone be so kind as to direct me to the required reading so that I know what to do on my end.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

Hi TC :smile5:
The procedure for people who live overseas is exactly the same as for people who live in the UK.
The major drawback being that you have to send sterling. The website says international money order, but I'm not sure if they're still available in some countries now.
I will be shortly posting all the new details/links etc received today as a result of my overnight query to HMCTS.

I've moved these posts to a new thread of their own, to avoid confusion with someone else's thread.
This sticky (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php/53450-Idiots-Guide-To-Wills?p=346962&viewfull=1#post346962) at the top of the forum is a good starting-point for reading about wills.
As you will see, the key point is whether probate was granted before or after 1858.

Oops, kerrywood confused me by splitting your query from the original thread.
tc - this is the link you want.

Hopefully everything is explained to you, but if not come back and yell again. :smile5:

To circumvent currency and payment problems, you just need a friend in this country who has a PayPal account ;)
