Hi Folks

I have some ancesters that were born in Charton & Newbottle which I understand comes under the Kings Sutton Registration district.

I understand that the Mormons did a lot of records for this area, would anyone have a website or email address so that I can order a copy?

Thanks

Well, if you're going to get your knickers in a twist, you might as well make it a big twist.

When my knowledge of a county is pretty much zero, I usually start with Genuki. Unfortunately, Genuki's details for Northants are a bit like my knowledge, with Charton not listed as a place, and no link to Newbottle, so then it was Plan B, which is the list of registration districts and places therein. http://www.
ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/index.htm

No Charton listed, but Newbottle is, and it's in Brackley registration district. http://www.

There's some interesting information re the parishes of Newbottle and Kings Sutton.

Registration districts are something that are usually only referred to in relation to civil registration , and as such deal only with BMDs after 1 July 1837.

I suspect that you're referring to wanting to order in films of parish registers for dates probably prior to 1837 for viewing at your local LDS FHC.

Start with the LDS catalogue (http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp).
Enter Newbottle in place search.
Select as necessary. :smile5:
Select chuch records.
Click parish registers for Newbottle.
Read the notes on the next page (about the dates), and then click on 'view film notes' in the top-right-hand corner.
These records are on fiche and you can select which dates and events you need, and the fiche numbers.

I checked for records for Kings Sutton, but the LDS have only BTs, and for lesser dates than Newbottle, so they're no help.
Armed with the fiche numbers you want, contact the local FHC and ask what the procedure is for ordering. (It's been several years since I ordered anything, so things may have changed.)

Otherwise it's a trip to Northants Record Office, where they have registers for both Newbottle and Kings Sutton till at least the 1980s.

Remember that when you're looking at PRs you're looking at baptisms, marriages and burials, which are not quite the same as the births, marriages, and deaths of civil registration. :smile5:
