my ggreatgrandfather was a rope and twine maker in the early 1800's he was from Derrington in Staffordshire which I can't find much about and then he carried on ropemaking in Macclesfield does anyone know about rope making in either staffordshire, or Macclesfield cheshire in the 1830's His name was George booth

If you go to Applegate, select 'R' on the 'Products' list at the top of the page, you will find lots of links to ropemakers in Macclesfield. I would suggest a 'google' to find the ones in Stafford.
