Hi I’m new to family history. I am working on my family tree. I am looking for any of my ancestors from the 1900s to present with surnames Waka or Vaja.

My father’s name is Mohammed Musa Waka, everyone knows him as Rustam Waka and also by the surname Patel. My Dad was born in 1948 in India, in Gujerat , District of Baroda in the village of Valan.
My mother’s name is Aysha Vaja and also known by the surname Patel. My mother was also born in India in 1948 in India, in Gujerat , District of Baroda in the village of Chavaj. My parents came to England in 1966.

Anybody with these names in their family or anyone who can help me with my research would be greatly appreciated.

List of variances: Waka,Waaka, Vaka,Vaaka, Vaja

Hello and welcome to the site

Like a lot of other members, not a continent that we research on, however I helped a friend and we found the following useful

www.
new.fibis.org/ this link wil take you to the 'Family History Society'

There are limited records on this site:

https://familysearch.org/s/ collection/list#page=1&countryId=1927063

You may need to scroll down and select Asia, on the following page India.

May I also suggest that you glean as much family information form your parents and any other older members as possible.

Good hunting

( I need a lesson on placing the links in a post!)
