Although in Derbyshire, HEANOR appears in the 1861 Census for Nottinghamshire in RG9-2435.

Folio 50 Page 18 is missing from the New version of the ACDB (http://www.parishchest.com/en-gb/dept_2418.html)Census set for NOTTINGHAMSHIRE 1861.
It should contain Schedules 77-79, so is not a blank page.

If anyone has the original Census set, or the Derbyshire 1861 Supplement for places in the Notts Census, I'd like to know what surnames appear on tbat page, to fill a gap in the surname index I'm working on.

Thanks for looking. If I get anything from TNA I'll post it here or on the Notts Forum.

I can confirm that the page is NOT on the original films from The National Archives.

Thanks for the confirmation. Since posting that query I've found that another page is missing from the same Piece RG9-2435. This one is Folio 91 Page 12 and is also probably absent from the original TNA film.

Thanks for that confirmation Rod - and the other missing page, Frank.

There will have to be some NBs on my eventual transcription. At least we know where the black holes are, when looking for Heanor people. :(

I have received the following reply from National Archives re the missing pages of the HEANOR 1861 Census:

Partial QUOTE:

Than you for your enquiry of 14 June 2005 regarding 1861 Census missing pages.

I have checked the original 1861 census and can confirm that
RG9/2435 Folio 50 page 18
RG9/2435 Folio 91 page 12 are available at the National Archives.

ENDQUOTE.

Those of a nervous disposition may wish to avoid gazing upon the prices quoted (could turn your plastic to stone!)

The answer for those in need would seem to be to obtain copies from the LDS or an obliging public library in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire area. I did'nt enquire for permission to make further copies or distribute them, and will leave that to others.

If the pages of that census are missing from the films, then the LDS library or the County Record Office will not have them either!

The only option would be to have prints made from the originals by The National Archives.
