Dear Each,
I am trying to help a lady in Newfoundland find out about her father (she will be 85 in August!). She understands that he served as an ambulanceman in London, probably Fulham, and would like to know if I might be able to get some form of record for him?
Could someone kindly tell me if the London Ambulance Service was around then or were they run by Civil Defence or some other department?
Many thanks in advance if you are able to help me!

Hiya!
It's lovely to hear from you again! :D Thanks for this link. I have just dashed off a letter of inquiry to their museum and library after having a quick 'shuftie'.
I spend about half an hour each week walking around North Sheen Cem. looking for 'possible links'. I have still not come across your Mr Hungerford. if I do I know where to find you!
Thanks once again, have a great weekend!
