I can see the marriage on SP but no obvious birth for Robert in Aberdeen. Greyfriars parish was in Aberdeen city. I think the church records (if any) will be at the National Archives of Scotland. They have an online catalogue.

There is a birth of a Robert King in Slains Aberdeenshire (which is not in Aberdeen City so prob not yours)in Sp index and this is also on the LDS pilot site. This Robert seems (from the LDS site) to have married a Christian Umphray in Slains in 1791. There is a death of a Christian King on SP in Slains 1820 but no age given.

Looking at the 1841 census on freecen I can see your family in Aberdeen. You can use this site to see census records of other Kings in the area, There is another possible son William age 20 also in Greyfriars and several other King families.

Looking for births/baptisms of possible siblings there is a Margaret King bp 1800 St Nicholas Aberdeen city. Daughter of William King and Catharine Lithgo. On SpP index and LDS pilot.

Do you have your Robert in a later census to help confirm his place of birth?

And do you have his death? If in Scotland after 1855 it would have parents’ names. None are leaping out from SP in Aberdeen city tho.

Sorry can’t be of more help.

Thanks for your time and help Grisel. Robert is not on any later census as he died in 1846, in Aberdeen.

Thanks Nikki.
