Jessie Persinkquard born about 1836 [where?] and married John Mayne at Richmond in Tasmania in 1863. Family anecdotes have her as being of Gypsy origin, but I am unable to find any reference to the name of Persinkquard.
There appears to be no record of her arriving in Tasmanai and as Jessie could neither read nor write, the spelling of her name [which appears on her marriage and on most of her children's records] could possibly have been mis spelt by the recording official.
Any clues to the name and its origin?
