This may be your missing Fred

Found him in the 1841 census for Marshfield . Red district of Chipping Sodbury

He and another Phelps are in a house with the followng occupants.
Mary & Sarah Newton
Frederick Olive
Mary Osbourne.

The two children are Henry Phelps age 5 and Frederick Phelps also age 5.

but you got remember that the ages wil not be the correct one, also the boys may not be brothers but connected somwhere down the line. In the census they are shown as Philps, but when you look at the census you get a different name

Further to the post by Alfie...

Origins has him indexed as PHELPS in their index :D
HO 107/368/7
En District 9, Folio 12, p19
Marshfield

The enumerator has strictly stuck to the rounding down of ages - but he also seems to have rounded down the people under 15 as well, which he wasn't supposed to.

There are also another three people enumerated in the same building, but noted as different household..
Harriet (25), Charlotte (25) & Frederick(20) OLIVE
all of independant means and born out of county.
Sarah & Mary Newton and Mary Osborne all appear to be down as 10 years old, then Henry and Frederick PHELPS as 5 years old.
There is also a female servant, 15, Ann EDWARDS.

These are the only PHELPS in Marshfield.

I have several Phelps and related by marriage Herberts in my tree, from Gloucestershire, then Yorkshire. My first known is Prudence Good born abt Dec 1785. She married James Phelps on 16 Mar 1812 in Abinghall in the Forest of Dean. A known child of this couple is John Phelps born abt 1813 East Dean Gloucestershire. John is thought to have been married twice, but not sure. Marriage 1 to Elizabeth ? She was born abt 1826 in East Dean. Marriage 2 to Elizabeth Jackson on 19th Oct 1840 in Flaxley Gloucestershire.
There is also a John Phelps on the 1841 census born abt 1840 in the Forest of Dean but I am not sure of the relationship.
Children of John Phelps and Elizabeth Jackson are:
*Elizabeth born abt 1852 East Dean*
Daniel born abt 1859 East Dean
Samuel born abt 1857 East Dean
William Phelps born abt 1847 East Dean
Jessie Phelps born abt 1865 East Dean
Mary Ann born abt 1868 East Dean
Rosina born abt 1870 East Dean

The above *Elizabeth *Phelps married Thomas Herbert on 14 Mar 1873 in the forest of Dean.
Have many more but the family eventually moved to Normanton near Wakefield Yorkshire abt 1881.
If this is the family you are researching please let me know and I will provide more information. Regards Maeve
