Please can you help me locate a lost relative who i have been informed left the USA for England as a Nurse and went over in 1900 to work in the Boer War

The link to this individual is rather thin- it comes from the USA and is mentioned in a file in Minnesota so i dont know how accurate it is

The statement is that a Walter Dunnicliff(e) left the USA as a Nurse to enter in the Boer War conflict.

There are many spellings of Dunnicliffe ie
Dunnicliff
Dunicliff
Dunnecliffe
etc etc

Any help in locating this individula would be most appreciated
