View Full Version : William Mcdonald-Look Up Please?

Hello I was just wondering if anyone could check any census' or immigration records for:

William Mcdonald brn abt 1853 Manchester, his wife Elizabeth Watson Mcdonald brn abt 1857 Lincolnshire.
There children:
William Mcdonald brn abt 1879 Manchester.
Flora Mcdonald brn abt 1881 York.
Louie Mcdonald brn abt 1883 Manchester.

They all returned to the UK before 1891, but I don't know if William (Senior) returned or died in New Zealand.

Also they had 2 more daughters whilst in New Zealand:

Mabel Mcdonald brn abt 1884 New Zealand.
Nelly/Ellen Mcdonald brn abt 1888 New Zealand

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

1891 census sees Elizabeth a widow at 27 Park Ave, Tottenham. A boarding house keeper. With her are Flora, Louie, Mabel and Nellie.

Have checked FreeBDM for a death for William (1888-1891), there are none that would fit with a birth year of 1853.

I Think William (Senior) may have died in New Zealand or at sea, is there anyway of finding this out?

I can't find Louie after 1901. There's no marriage or death that fits and I can't find her in 1911 as McDonald or variants

I have found a Louie Mcdonald aged 27 in Ashton Under Lyne(Manchester) working as a barmaid in the George & Dragon Hotel. The only thing is that her age is out by 3 years. I've also found a marriage in Chorlton 1918 Louis Mcdonald to a John Rogers. This is all I can find for her after this unless she went back to New Zealand.
