No trouble, I will see if I can find anything else. The spelling of the name is a problem with the online BDM records as they don't provide a wildcard option for searches.
Have just found Teresa's cemetery record, buried in Takapuna O'Neills Point Cemetery. No Peter recorded only an Eileen F N O' Shaughnessy - infant d 1907.
Also found a Peter Shaughnessy d 1893 aged 73 and William Shaughnessy also d 1893 aged 18 months from Tauraunga Burial Records.
I don't have access to the NZ Cemetery fiche which may give more details, these records are from a burial index.

If you look on the Papers Past site at paperspast.natlib.govt.nz and search for SHAUGHNESSY 1893 you will find a report of Peter Shaughnessy's funeral. An interesting obituary.
A P Shannassy aged 27, soldier from Ireland came from Melbourne to Auckland on the CLAUD HAMILTON in 1870 - from Victoria (Aus) to NZ - Passengers 1852-1880

Thank you so much again.
The passenger from Melbourne on the Claud Hamilton was an amazing find as I have another relative whoarrived on this ship ,on the same voyage and named a son after the ship. By a strange coincidence , that same relative married into Theresa O'Shaughnessys famiy 20 years later.
I have found a couple ofother references on papers past but missed the funeral report. Thanks again.

Kevynne
