Hello,

I have been searching for the death certificate of Thomas Bourne b.1834-5, Droitwich, Worcestershire.
I have been unsuccessful in finding his birth certificate as well, but I am quite interested to find out where he died.
He is registered in Northampton in 1861 and in 1871 registered in Wolverton, Bucks as a boiler maker. Sadly, his wife Ann Sophia died in 1876, and in the 1881 census he is registered onboard a new fitting for an unnamed ship, in Stepney, London, along with an engine fitter and another boiler maker, both from Wolverton also.

I have searched for his death certificate, but there are many Thomas Bourne's with birth years around 1834/5, and because I'm unsure whether he stayed in London, or went back to Wolverton, Northants, his birthplace, or even somewhere else for work, I can't be sure of the right one.

Does anyone have any ideas to narrow it down?

Thanks
F

Do you have him in 1891?

He seems to have remarried and was living at Queen Street, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire

Bourne Thomas 57 Boiler maker b. Droitwich
Bourne Elizabeth wife 58 b. Aylesbury, Bucks

RG12/1264/71/page 12.

I could not find him in 1901 so looked for a death between 1891/1901 and found this

Bourne Thomas age 67 Dec qtr 1900 Leighton B. vol 3b page 221
I think that's your man as that's where he was living in 1891

While I was searching Free BMD I found this marriage if you don't already have it

Bourne Thomas Jun qtr 1856 Northampton vol 3b page 98
Ann Sophia Deacon listed on same page.

In the 1871 census she is shown born Northampton as are their children

I do have their marriage certificate from 1856, but I don't have him in 1891. I couldn't seem to find him so I assumed he'd died between 1881 and 1891.
Thankyou so much for your help! I have every instance of this fellow now! I just hope I can find the name of the ship he was working on. I have emailed a few sites, but a trip to the NMN might be in order.
Once again, thankyou.
