Can someone please explain the current situation with 1851 census for Kent. I have made posts, and seen several other posts, requesting help searching for people in this census - and received no replies - very unusual, and one that would indicate that no-one has the census for Kent. On the back of my Family History magazine advertising census CDs Kent is coloured pink indicating all the censuses except 1851. Please can someone satisfy my curiosity?

Hi Val,
The 1851 census seems to be one that has been largely ignored by the census-producing companies. Not just for Kent but for all counties, so don't think that you in particular are being picked on. :) Much as we all want 'our' county/counties for 1841 - 1901 inclusive produced first, companies have their own reasons for producing certain years for certain counties in advance of others.
If the FRC in London is too far away and Reading LDS FHC is not convenient for you, and you're really, really, desperate then Stepping Stones have produced Kent 1851.
