I have a death cert that reads cause of death: Military Tuberculosis. I googled it and found out the meaning BUT my eyes fooled me into reading Military when in fact it was Miliary Tuberculosis. A friend that looked up the death in the British Library Film place confirmed the cause of death was Miliary Tuberculosis (he also first thought it was Military and not Miliary).:confused5:

It just goes to show that our eyes see only what they think they see rather than what actually is. The death certificate I have was obviously transcribed wrong but it would have been an easy mistake to make. :biggrin5:

I've done a similar thing before V. Not with a death certificate, but an occupation. I can't for the life of me remember what it was now, but my eye read something that wasn't there, and I hunted high and low for the occupation. It wasn't until some time later, that I re-read it, and laughed when I saw what it really was! The old grey matter has blocked out what it was, but if I remember, I'll let you know for a giggle. ;)

:biggrin5:Thanks Glenys and Sue! I know I am not the only one that sees things differently than what my brain thinks!
