I'm looking at a birth certificate from the Sub-district of Midhurst in the County of Sussex from 1883 and the place of birth is only given as: "Graffham R.S.D." (Rural Sanitary District). Is this usual?
Every other birth/death certificate I've seen has a house name or number and street name and I wondered why there was none on this particular certificate.
Details:
24 Jan 1883 - Graffham R.S.D.
Eva May - Girl
Father: Joseph Twohey, Army Pensioner
Mother: Catherine Twohey formerly Dibben
Informant was Joseph Twohey, Father of Graffham
Thanks
