I was delighted to find this forum ,I am reseaching my SPILLER family .WIlliam David Spiller born 1827/8 at Weymouth was a coastguard .He married Hannah Chrisopher at Sheppey 1854.Hannahs ather George Walter CHRISTOPHER also a Coastguard born approx 1807 Dorset(info thanks to Glenys brilliant Sheppey site).Any info re other Spiller siblings of William ,his father was George described as a mariner in 1854.
