link to ireland

I have traced my family back as far back as Joseph Moore who was married to Mary Pughe in 1798 they had a son Joseph b.1805 and a daughter b. 1810 and they lived in Pleasant Street Liverpool .This is where I have hit a brick wall,I'm pretty sure Joseph is a link to Ireland ,but I cant seem to get anywhere,can anyone help me please
