Two of my ancestors Thomas Roberts, c1832 and his mother Hannah Roberts c1791 are shown in records to have been born in Holywell and Flint in Flintshire. Could someone help me out and tell me if the are fairly close to each other in the county please.

While I don't personally know how close they are to each other, I've found that using an internet map website like Google Maps has been invaluable in getting a "picture" of where my ancestors lived, much better than having someone explaining to me in words where a town is located. On most map websites, you can also get directions from one place to another, hence showing distances as well.

As this thread only concerns the location of the two above named towns, and the research into Thomas Roberts and Hannah Roberts is proceeding on this thread (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?58069-Re-Hannah-Roberts-b1791&p=386510&highlight=#post386510), I will close this thread to avoid possible duplication of research.
