Hello, everyone! I am on the verge of turning 70, have been married for 52 years, have 6 living children, 14 g.children, 5 ggchildren and live near the Red River in MN, USA. My favorite things to do: read, kayak, travel. I'm also very active in my local Catholic church and do volunteer work in school libraries.

I am searching for my husband's ancestors and I have hit the 'brick' wall looking for parents and/or family of Daniel Manney who was born in Boston, MA, USA in 1825 or 1826. Daniel's mother's maiden name was Kennedy. Daniel was married to Elizabeth McCrudden in New York City in 1849. She was born in 1816 in Ireland and her parents, Henry and Elizabeth, were listed on Liza's death certificate as being from Ireland.

Did alot of people come to the US from Ireland about that time? Is it possible his parents landed in Boston and not New York?

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you through posts or emails.

Maryann

Hello Maryann and welcome to Brit-Gen.

As the Introduce yourself board is not for research queries I have copied your post onto the "Across The Ponds" USA Genealogy forum here (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?57893-Looking-for-Manney(s)-and-McCrudden(s)).
