Hi,
If you buy a birth certificate and you know the person has been adopted, will the original birth certificate give the revised adopted name? If not, how do I go about finding the adopted persons new name? Many thanks.

What time frame are you talking about? The original birth registration will give the original name. An amended certificate would be issued in the case of adoption and the original would not be issued.

I have an original english birth certificate for a family member who was adopted in 1932,the cert does say adopted but does not give the new family surname & ive found it impossible to get a copy of the new cert, as far as I can see the only way to get a copy of the new cert is if you already know the new surname.

There is no publicly available paper trail between adoptive details and birth details in either direction. This system was deliberately designed this way. Adopted people have certain rights to discover their birth details. Nobody else does, not even the next of kin.
