Any reason why I can only see the last five posts?

Hi Carol,
This was discussed recently here (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?57476-What-is-happening-to-New-Posts) and here (http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/showthread.php?56402-Whats-New-only-7-posts)
From what I remember from these discussions, it has to do with logging out, then logging back in again.

I've been having similar problems today. This morning I logged on to see the new posts and everything was ok. I responded to one of them but my post did not appear. It took me a couple of minutes to realise that I had been thrown out and had to log on again. This time I could only see three posts. This evening only four posts came up. Hmm, I knew folk here would not have been that quiet over a few hours. While attempting another response I was kicked out again and once back in I had to use the search button to find the relevant post. I thought there was a button to use to bring up all the day's posts. However, that appears now if one hasn't logged on.
Now all the new posts since I last logged on have appeared.

Thanks Adele. I knew this problem had been discussed previously but couldn't find the posts. However, I don't know why I have been thrown out several times today.

Hi Ali,
I'm puzzling over why you have been thrown out several times. I wonder if it is an internet connection problem from your computer? I'm sorry I can't be more helpful at the moment.

I don't think it was a connection problem because I usually have one or two other sites open at the same time and had no problems with them. Perhaps it was just a blip today *fingers crossed.*

Yes, fingers crossed! Now that you have posted your problem, we'll also see if anyone else reports the same thing happening to them. Then hopefully someone with more expertise than I have will come along .....

I was also thrown out this morning, it was quite a surprise!
It was OK though,
I typed a response to a message then hit the Post Quick Reply and it said I was not logged in. Well I was, but I logged in again and lo and behold my post had been registered as a reply. I thought it must have been my Internet connection but as it has happened to Ali as well then we will keep an eye.
Let us hope it was just a maintenance blip somewhere along the lines. ;)

Me too. It took me about 5 minutes to get back in again this morning. I assumed it was my connection until I saw the above posts.
Probably a blip, as you say.
As Mutley and Kerrywood said - there seemed to be some issue earlier. I tried to post something, but it refused to post - despite me copying my missive and pasting it into a new "Quick Reply" window on several occasions. Other sites were fine - so I am guessing it was a glitch somewhere in the B-G system.
I wouldn't worry too much - it tends to take a while for things to "bed down" after major changes ;)

Crikey! T'is a wonder the site didn't blow up. Thanks for all the responses. I'm pleased it was not a problem my end because I would not have known what to do.
