Hi Et
Thanks for the response , sadly Merthyr Tydfil is south Wales and my relative was living in the Prestatyn area of North Wales , i wonder whether I need to look at a wider date range??

Did Elizabeth marry? And if so, what was her married surname?
(I was searching for the GRO Index ref for my gran's death and it took me about a quarter of an hour to realise that the reason I couldn't find her was because I was looking under her maiden name.:biggrin5:)
Two other things to bear in mind -
(a) the age on the death certificate is only as accurate as the details known to the informant. If the informant was a friend, the year of birth could be wrong
(b) the death should be registered in the district in which the death occurred. Which is not always the district in which a person usually lived.

Hi Pam
I suppose this is the problem when you get information 2nd hand , all the details I have on Elizabeths later life came from another relative who visited Elizabeth and was certain she never married. I know the details of her birth are correct I found them in the 1911 census .
