Hallo
I know this is a long shot but does anyone in the Nottingham area ever pass Whitemoor road I have checked the address for no17 on mu.mp and it looks as if it possibly is a new building. Although we are around 70 miles away I plan to have a weekend around Nottingham calling into the Nottingham general cemetery (hopefully with our caravan and yes hubby knows my cunning plan)
Best Wishes
Jane

17 Whitemoor Rd doesn't exist any more. That can be easily checked with the Royal Mail postcode finder.

Have you tried Google Street View? This gives the impression that that end of the road may now be occupied by The Maltings which is student accommodation.

Whitemoor Road has been considerably shortened over the past 80 years. It used to start at the Whitemoor Public House on Nuthall Road, follow the course of the current Whitemoor AVENUE, cross what is now Nottingham Ring Road and then continue into what is left of the current Whitemoor Road. The Maltings is a very old building(factory) converted into student accomodation. A 1920s map can be found here:

So it will depend on the age of your source. I get the impression that 17 WAS between current Whitechapel Street & Basford Road (formerly the High Street) around 1910, though the numbering appears very odd in an old directory.

I don`t think they`ll let you take your caravan into the General Cemetery though :wink5:

Hi
Thanks for the replies I had a feeling it wouldnt be there anymore, as for the caravan its not that I am worried about its persuading my hubby to go their with the car, I know the place is huge so will be checking out where the burial ground is i think I have the info from another thread. Heres hoping and plotting!
Best Wishes
