Hi Barbie..order your certs direct from The General Registers Office in Roscommon at http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm opt for the cheapest which is a photocopy at 6 euro. You will have to use a credit card to purchase from them and it is quicker to fax your order than post.Takes about a week

You could try this one - not sure how much it works out to in £'s.

irish-certificates.ie/ (put www. in front)

Thank you..I have looked at both site and will work out which is better for me. Before I make an order tho, can anyone tell me what are film number, volume, page, digital gs number and image? Thing is, I know my great grandparents were married in 1896 in Clones, Ireland but it was hard to read (on my nan's birth certificate) the actual month and date but It looks like they married in November 13th/15th 1896...On this Ireland, civil indexes 1845-1958 it has the year 1896 oct-dec. so with having the film number, volume etc, will this be any help or something?

So you download a copy of a form (marriage certificate )from GRO Ireland and you fill in the following Your name, address etc and then the form asks for in section 2 "details of persons whose marriage certificate is requested" and here you put the names of the persons that were married. For date of marriage you put Oct-Dec 1896 and you also put Volume number and page number, thats all you need as per record that you have found and then fill in registration district, which I assume in your case is Clones.Tick box marked photocopy, supply your credit card details and fax or send by post.

I would advise you to use the Roscommon address and Pattenwalsh's explanation.

It seems an efficient service and is pretty quick.

Hi, if I fax it, can I give bank details by phone or something as I really don't like the idea of posting or faxing with bank details really. Would I be able to fax marriage details and leave a note saying I will give bank details over phone or on line?

I don't know the answer, you'd have to ask them. I considered just putting a €10 note in the envelope and seeing what happened!!!
