Im researching Thomas Coote Family and come to a brick wall

Thomas Coote Born 1816 Flamstead,Parents Robert Coote & Lydia Millard
Thomas married a lady called Martha (dont know when or what her surname is )?
Thomas & Martha had 7 children

Mary Anne 1840 Married Charles Morrice (dont know where or when)? Last known of her was in 1901 living at widows cottage Flamstead,he died 1876 Hemel Hempstead

Caroline 1842 have her up to 1871 and she was living at 43,London Road Flamstead

Daniel 1846 Died 1875

William 1850 have him up to 1861 living flamstead

James 1852 up to 1861 Flamstead

Charles 1854 have him up to 1871 living at 43 London Road Flamstead

Annie 1862 living up to 1881 Nursemaid Domestic Servant for the Burra family The Rectory Kiddington Oxfordshire

If anyone can help me with any of these people i would be so grateful

Does anyone know if there still is a London Road in Flamstead as thats where they all seemed to of lved

Hi Belinda,

According to Hugh Wallis's IGI site, there is an extracted marriage at Flamstead on 19 January 1839 between a Thomas COOTES and a Martha FRANCIS.

Also a marriage at Flamstead on 4 November 1871 between Charles COOT and Elizabeth Mary FOX, a marriage on 13 July 1885 between Annie COOT & Alfred THORN (they are in Flamstead in the 1891/1901 census if she is your Annie). William COOT looks to have married an Eliza as he is in the 1871 census of Flamstead (transcribed as COOTS by Ancestry) living in the hamlet of Trowley. By the 1901 census this couple are in Islington (again shown as COOTS) living at 94 Rotherfield Street with children Florence, Rose and Ethel and father in law Thomas BURGESS.

IGI also has a couple of extra children, both baptised at Flamstead, parents Thomas Coote(s) and Martha. Batch C046971/2:

James COOTE looks to be in St George, Westminster in the 1881 census:

RG11/98, folio 60, page 26

James COOTE Serv Unm 28 Groom Hertfordshire Flamstead

He is living in the household of a John DALMON, a 53 year old Coachman and family.

By the 1901 census (RG13/52, folio 87, page 30) he is shown as a Paying Guest in the District Rowton House, South Hammersmith and described as a single Stableman Groom.

Can't find Caroline, I'm afraid.
