Jane Ellen Avery was born in Aylesbury in the last quarter of 1866 (father Thomas). After being a nurse at Brookwood Hospital, Woking, at the time of the 1891 census, she was, by the time of the 1901 census nursing at the 3 Counties Asylum, Stoptford, Beds. She was still there at the time of the 1911 census (now described as at Arlesey near Hitchen, but still in Bedfordshire). Can anyone tell me where I might find on-line information about the place, and possibly about what may have happened to her after 1911.
Thanks for any information or suggestions, FredP.

Online information I cannot help with, but the Hospital Records Database (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/hospitalrecords/details.asp?id=198&hospital=arlesey&town=&searchdatabase.x=103&searchdatabase.y=17)indicates there are staff records available, which may help in tracing her.

There is a web-site for the hospital (http://www.threecountiesasylum.co.uk/)which may be of interest.

Thank you for finding this website. My great aunt was in the hospital for over 50 years and seeing the buildings again certainly brought back memories of visiting her when I was a child.
