I found this website earlier today: bookdepository.co.uk/free

It sells books but also offers one free download from a choice of thousands. I sat enthralled at the description of day to day life in Camberwell in the 1850s instead of paying the bills!

If you prefer to be less impulsive than me you may care to research what you'd like to read first, hopefully it will be one of those on offer. Otherwise you might like to Google to inspect the contents of a title before you make your choice though I got lucky with mine, a historical narrative about my own home town. :)

Already seen several I wouldn't mind reading. I'll have to set aside some time to go through them as I'm much too easily sidetracked once I start reading. Brit gen AND on-line books!! Nothing will get done at home if I go down that route.|biggrin|
