Hi All,
I'm Max66 a brand new member. I've been chasing ancestors, intermittently, for over thirty years and I'm still looking. I started with my children and followed back all of the maternal and paternal lines. My initial goal was to find the individuals and couples on each of those lines who took the amazing leap to emigrated to Australia and to find out what I could about them. It has been a great journey and I'm sure that with the help of other members the best is yet to come.

I ofter reflect on a 1928 quote from Hector McKechnie;
"To rescue from oblivion one's forebears, to revive their memories, cannot but give satisfaction."

Best Regards,
Max66

Hello Max66 |wave|
Welcome to Brit-Gen forums, I'm sure you will love it here. How things have changed from 30 years ago! easier to get access to stuff with the internet. I Love that quote. Have a look around and post any queries on the relevant forum. Good luck with your research. :)

G'day. And quite a few who like footy, barbies and vegemite - not necessarily at the same time. You'll find folk very helpful here.

Hi Max66,

There are lots of Aussies here on this very useful and helpful forum. I also loved the quote. If you need anything from NSW - just yell (very loudly). |wave|
