SOB?...my initials.....not "son of a B.....", although some may choose to think otherwise. And chasing the O'BRIEN surname back to Ireland has certainly prompted the occasional expletive.
I'm based in S Cumbria (ENG), not far from Coniston in the Lake District, where my GGGfather fled to escape the 'Famine (finding work in the copper mines), and 20 years later crossed the 'Pond to settle in NJ.
I was warned how addictive this 'pastime' might prove when I first dabbled only 18 months ago...and so it's proven. But I now share the trek with 3 other living descendants - and yet still so much to learn!
