Hello all, I have only been really active for about 2 years. I was at my Great Aunt's funeral, who was the last of my mother's Aunts to die, and left my mother as 'matriarch' of that side of the family. Chatting it became evident that there were a lot of intersting stories and I became hooked.
Before long I was researching my mother's ancestry and since, this year, is her 80th birthday I decided to try and find all her Great, Great, Grandaprents. Sussess, in fact in a couple of lines managed to get back to the mid 18th century. The earliest parish record that I have a copt of is a marriage in 1775.
As a treat for her I wrote it all up and have just had it printed using blurb.com
As with most family histories there illegitiamte births, suicides, tragic early deaths, 19th century divorce, child marriages, emigration...
