Hi - this is Christine from Adelaide, South Australia, and I have been interested in my family history for many years, but have only just started looking into it more thoroughly. My roots are Cornish "through and through" and so I am keen to find out more about my families and their lives in Cornwall before they emigrated to South Australia. Family names are SANDOW (SANDO/SANDOE), TREGONING, MOYLE, PRISK, PRYOR, HOCKING, MOYSE/S, TRESTRAIL. My husband is also interested in FEATHERSTON and BUCKHURST (not Cornish!). I am looking forward to being a part of this community, and learning more, especially as we are planning to visit Cornwall later in the year. Kind regards to you all. Christine.

Welcome to the forum Christine!

My family is also Cornish - and I live in Cornwall ;)

Have a look around the forum - there is a forum section especially for Cornish ancestors - and, when you feel ready, pop a post on the relevant forum and hopefully the B-G members will be able to help with your research!

Welcome to the forum Christine. You seem to have arrived in the middle of a forum upgrade but once the members have sorted their way around all the new buttons I am sure they will be able to welcome you aboard.

Good luck with your research.

Hi Christine - welcome!
I see you have MOYLE as one of your names - I, too, have Moyles - and a merry dance they have led me ...!! Mine are mainly from the Kenwyn/Chacewater area; if you think I can help, please ask!:)

Hi Christine - from me in chilly Ontario
Welcome to the new way of doing things and tracing Ancestors. My late Mum's family were from Reduth and Gwithian so like you I have Cornish roots that run deep.
I'm sure the folks here will inundate you [as they have done for me] with as much information as you need to make up for the distance you are away.
Cheers
Colin

Wow - thank you everyone for your warm welcomes, and from so many different parts of the world! I will post any queries I have on the Cornwall County-wide forum (I have already posted one query there regarding the MOYLE family) and look forward to hearing from you. Hopefully I might be able to help others too.

Hi Christine, I see you have Tregoning as a Family name in your tree. I have been gathering information about my Tregoning family and this site has helped me enormously so I am sure you will have success. My g,g,grandfather Michael Tregoning was one of
eleven children so I am hoping to find descendants of some of them. You will find my posts on the site so please check them out and see if there is a connection. I am pretty sure some of them would have gone to Australia as my Michael came to NZ after 7 years in Mexico.
