Are the names of my four grandparents. They all lived in Birkenhead.

I am particularly interested in the Lamb line at the moment although I have been investigating all of them in turn it seems that none of the families lived in Birkenhead for long before the turn of the century.

The Lambs came down from the Lake District - not sure when but in 1881 they were in Kendal and in 1900 my grandfather Herbert Harris Lamb was born. His father was Charles H Lamb b 1872 in Penrith and he married an Annie (Anna) Harris but I cannot find a record of the marriage (yet) ....

Another interesting line is the Howard family who lived in the Dock Cottages in 1881 but originated from Halsall in Lancs.

The Didsburys came from Tarvin in Cheshire and the Dobbings from Sunderland.

any links or advice would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum Sarah,
love the user name. ;)

Take a look around and decide where to ask your questions. Administration is well used to rounding up lambs here. :)

Good Luck

I wonder if Annie was married before?

thanks for this it seems that my Great Grandmother was indeed a Gibson rather than a Harris!! I had a connection for Gibson (James Arthur Gibson) but had not been able to place that name in the tree but had been told Annie's name was Harris (Charles and Annie's son Herbert Harris Lamb, my father is Raymond Harris Lamb and so on for two more generations ....) so now I have to find out where the Harris came from!!
